Consultant Practice Development Facilitator (Health and Wellbeing Manager)

Location: Craigmillar, Edinburgh

Salary: £39,743 per annum

Our client believes in a world of inclusion, free of isolation and loneliness, where a health crisis doesn’t mean a life crisis. The organisation supports people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to lead good lives and achieve what matters most to them.

The Role

The organisation is recruiting a Consultant Practice Development Facilitator (PDF) to join their team which supports people with long-term physical and mental health conditions to self-manage and improve their wellbeing.

The role requires an experienced practitioner with the proven ability to lead and manage a team of practitioners, design projects and services and build successful relationships with local agencies and organisations within community settings.

The successful candidate will also form part of the organisation’s Training and Consultancy team and will lead the delivery of external training in collaborative, outcomes focused and strengths-based approaches to health and social care colleagues across Scotland.

Their approach models a generic non specialist approach to rehabilitation and supported self-management and the role of the PDF is to ensure congruence between service delivery with the content in their external Training offers.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a senior health and social care practitioner with extensive knowledge and experience of supporting people living with long term physical and mental health conditions to self-manage.
  • Have a background in collaborative, outcomes focused, strength based and trauma informed approaches and recognise the value of a generic, non-specialist approach to supported self-management.
  • Be experienced in supporting staff to manage caseloads, waiting times, and ensuring the achievement of expected outcomes.
  • Be experienced in using participative approaches to leadership and team building.
  • Hold a firm belief that people have strengths, are resilient and are experts in their own lives.
  • Have excellent solution focused coaching, group facilitation skills and experience of training delivery.

Benefits

  • A highly attractive work environment.
  • Support and supervision from your line manager and a supportive team of colleagues.
