Company Accountant

We are advertising on behalf of our client, a highly reputable, independent, employee-owned business in Exeter for a Full Time Company Accountant. This is a very rare opportunity to join this well-established team who value and reward their employees.

The Role

To oversee day-to-day accounting operations while actively contributing to the growth and success of the company including-

• Accounts payable/receivable, vehicle creditors and debtors, bank reconciliations and stocking loans.
• Prepare budgets.
• Provide both monthly and daily figures to management in order to track target progress.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts including balance sheets and cash flow statements to provide insights into business performance.
• Responsible for Payroll processing PAYE and HMRC.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for business growth and profitability.
• Stay up to date and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards, including preparing and being answerable for financial audits.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making processes.
• Monday to Friday with flexible working options.

About You

• ACCA, ACA, AAT or similar professional qualification or working towards is advantageous.
• Proven experience in accounting roles within the Motor industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of Pinnacle DMS would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable and punctual.
