London Fire Brigade, one of our largest public sector clients based in London are looking to recruit two Communications Officer (Internal) to join their team on an initial 3-month contract (with possibilities of further extensions). The role is full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, 2 days in office and 3 days’ work from home. The office is based near London Bridge/Southwark station.

Pay rate:£19.30 per hour PAYE or £24.52 per hour Umbrella

Job Purpose:

The postholder supports the delivery of the internal communications across the Brigade, across several channels including print, face to face and digital. They support the successful delivery of campaigns and improve staff engagement.

Key responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the successful delivery of the Brigade’s corporate communications and internal communications and events strategies.
  • To contribute to gathering data on views and responses to communication through our internal channels and present these in ways that support decision making about the development of our communication strategy.
  • To contribute to engaging with colleagues across the Brigade to gather information on upcoming priorities and communication needs, and form communication plans to support these.
  • To contribute to the successful delivery of internal communications across several channels including events, print, face to face and digital, and in so doing contribute to the success of campaigns and improving staff engagement.
  • To develop and publish content in support of Brigade priorities into our internal channels.
  • To play a role in managing the day-to-day layout and content on the Brigade’s intranet.
  • To support delivery of regular internal communications reviews and help implement any recommendations.
  • To play a role in organising and delivering face-to-face briefing sessions and events across the Brigade.
  • To develop and manage a variety of communications projects and campaigns, including planning through to delivery and evaluation/reporting.
  • To actively share and keep up to date on internal communications best practice, identifying opportunities to share best practice internally and with similar organisations.
