Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Director to lead our commercial team and drive our business forward. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing commercial operations within the construction industry, with specific expertise in JCT contracts and Design and Build contracts. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Commercial Director will play a pivotal role in shaping our commercial strategy, managing contracts, maximizing profitability, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive business growth and maximize profitability.
• Oversee all aspects of commercial operations, including contract negotiation, risk management, and cost control.
• Lead and mentor the commercial team, providing guidance and support to achieve project objectives.
• Manage client relationships and ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
• Monitor project performance and financial metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize project delivery and achieve company goals.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and developments to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Commercial Director or similar leadership role within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of JCT contracts, Design and Build contracts, and other relevant contract types.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve common goals.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to make sound business decisions and drive results.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
