We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Punch Press Operator on behalf of our clients in the ST5 area due to their current expansion of the business.

  • Day Shift
  • Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 3:00pm - Friday: 6:00am to 12:00pm.
  • 40hrs per week.
  • Full-Time, Permanent.
  • Overtime paid at a premium.
  • Annual leave: 20 days increasing to 25, plus bank holidays - Plus Birthday taken as annual leave (If it falls on a working day).

Your will be tasked with configuring and operating their punch press machine, cutting, shaping and forming metal that is used in production and manufacturing steel doors. You will be performing cutting, blending & punching, forming actions and working from detailed CAD designs.

Other key tasks will include:

  • Correctly set-up punch machines ready for operations.
  • Operating panel benders, loading the programs and checking any & all corrections.
  • Maintaining machine tools.
  • selecting correct punch programming.
  • Position and remove parts from the die.
  • Perform dimensional inspections.
  • Perform routine Operator maintenance.
  • Achieve & exceed company set production targets.
  • Fault finding, report any & all issues to management.

What you'll need to succeed!

  • Proven experience as a CNC punch press operator is essential - 3 years minimum.
  • Proven experience folding metal is essential.
  • Ability to read/interpret CAD designs.
  • IT literate.
  • Experience within metal door manufacturing is beneficial.
  • Hard working & reliable.
  • A "can do" attitude.
