First Achieve's Engineering Division are seeking a Machinist to join their client who are a globally recognised company in Edinburgh. Working in their Machine Shop, you will be reporting directly to Chief Inspector.

Duties will include:

  • Program mills and lathes (Manual & CNC)
  • Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, vices, tools, attachments, collets, gears etc.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Keeping work area clean/tidy plus free from hazards.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.

Successful Candidate:

  • Time Served Engineer.
  • Experience in both Manual and CNC Machining.
  • Strong understanding of Engineering/Technical drawings.
