We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Safety Officer to work with our Healthcare client on a temporary ongoing basis, from 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, to be located in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Pay Rates:

£19.50 - £22.50 paye per hour

£21.50 - £25.00 paye inclusive of holiday pay per hour

£24.50 - £28.50 umbrella per hour

All of the rates are depending on skill and experience

Working Days and Hours: Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:00

Duties

  • You will be required to act as the Clinical Safety Officer coordinating clinical safety activities associated with wider digital health systems across the organisation.
  • You wil be responsible for promoting and increasing awareness of clinical safety activities across the organisation.
  • You will be responsible for implementing the digital clinical risk management processes and procedures across the Trust in accordance with DCB0160 Clinical Risk Management: it's Application in the Deployment and Use of Health IT Systems across the organisation
  • To act as a designated Clinical Safety Officer with responsibility for ensuring a suitable clinical safety process is in place and that it has been followed during the manufacture, procurement, and implementation of IT health systems
  • To plan clinical risk management activities in support of the development and operation of clinical information systems across the organisation. Facilitate clinical hazard workshops, meetings and other clinical risk management activities as appropriate. This will require assessing complex factors to formulation and adjustment plans as necessary.
  • Take an active role in the reporting, investigating, analysing and resolving clinical safety incidents and making recommendations on the safety of health IT systems.
  • Managing complex activities for the development of new Clinical Safety Cases. Needs to plan engagement with a wide range of subject matter experts, including external system suppliers, requiring a high degree of flexibility
  • Identify the risks associated with the manufacture of IT health systems and assist the development team in monitoring and reducing these risks.
  • Identify the risks associated with the implementation of proposed projects and assist the Project Managers in monitoring and reducing these risks.
  • Evaluate and test IT systems as they develop and impact on clinical areas in support of clinical safety. Testing of functionality, manipulation of data and production of reports and recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
  • Understand the details of the Trust digital transformation strategy and Local Service Providers and consider in detail how this affects clinical safety.
  • Liaise with clinical safety teams in external organisations in the development and procurement of IT health solutions
  • The purpose of this role is to develop and perform Clinical Risk Management activities that support the safe development and use of Digital Health Applications and IT Systems within HCT

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • You will have proven experience working in the field supporting a range of Digital projects and ideally proficient as a Clinical Safety Officer/equivalent.
  • To be successful you will need to have significant knowledge of the statutory requirements in relation to the clinical safety throughout the life cycle of IT health systems including DCB0160 standards.
  • Patient safety experience, risk management experience and relevant clinical experience. (In depth knowledge of the practice of related healthcare, clinical workflow and supporting business processes)
  • In depth knowledge of Health IT Systems, human factors and their contribution and control in the context of patient harm
  • IT user-level skills experience in the use of digital systems in a clinical context
  • Have the ability to support the development of new service standards
  • Experience of working with clinicians, managers and other stakeholders
  • Meet the key competencies specified in DCB0160
  • Hold a current Clinical registration with an appropriate professional body (such as GMC who has led on Digital initiatives to facilitate Clinical Risk Management.)
  • Experience of using Systm One and evidence of the successful completion of TPP Systm One TTT(desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in risk management and its application to clinical domains.
  • CSO accreditation and experience as a Clinical Safety Officer/equivalent in an NHS /Healthcare environment.
  • You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and be able to work across a range of multidisciplinary teams
