Civil Litigation Assistant Team Leader – London – up to £60 umbrella per hour – Hybrid Working

Duration: 3-month ongoing

Working Pattern: Full time

Working Arrangement: Hybrid working- once a week office attendance

Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella (DOE)

Venn Group’s legal team are working with a reputable Local Authority based in London in their search for an Assistant Team Leader to join their Civil Litigation team on a locum basis.

The ideal candidate for this role will be either a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx with specialist knowledge and understanding of the law, practice and procedure in relation to Civil Litigation; including Housing, Homelessness and Licensing. It is desirable for the candidate to have an understanding of the concepts underpinning local government law and public law principles.

Duties shall include:

1. To advise on matters arising in all areas of Civil Litigation, including Housing, Homelessness and Licensing, covering multiple clients, including Local Authorities casework which includes complex corporate projects
2. To advise on high profile matters, including advising elected members at council meetings in a proactive and politically sensitive manner
3. To act as a senior liaison point for clients and to line manage, provide professional support, supervision and development for more junior colleagues in Civil Litigation
4. To support the Team Leader in the running and development of the team, including deputising in the Team Leader’s absence

Collaborate with a growing Local Authority based in London in meaningful and insightful work and be part of a dynamic team looking to expand their remit. Local Government experience is preferable but not essential for this role provided there is significant relevant Civil Litigation experience.
