Our client in the education sector is looking to appoint a forward thinking CFO to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to oversee all aspects of finance and provide strategic management of the financial operations and performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in budget management and forecasting and leading high- performing teams.
Strong interpersonal skills are key, along with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.

Location: Widnes
Salary: £70,000-£75,000

Responsibilities:
* Overall performance of the finance function, including management of the finance team.
* Providing leadership to the Board on finance and accounting strategy to optimise financial performance and strategic position.
* Overseeing the budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Work closely with the CEO to deliver long- term financial plans and identify additional sources of external revenue and funding
* Continuous improvement of existing financial systems and policies ensuring they support future growth.
* Lead on the production of business plans and risk proposals for new or developing ventures.
* Responsible for the monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts, including consolidated, with appropriate commentary comparing performance against budget and analysing variances.
* Ensuring robust cashflow, monitoring and forecasting systems are in place and providing financial analysis to aid key decision making.
* Managing the budget setting process from planning through to consolidation.
* Production of 3-5 year financial plans.
* Overseeing the submission of VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE/NI.
* Lead on due-diligence processes, providing appropriate support and financial management.

Requirements:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA Qualified.
* Experience in the Education/Non-Profit/Third sector would be advantageous but not essential.
* Extensive experience in budget management and forecasting, delivering management and financial accounts.
* Understanding of the statutory educational framework and knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and codes of practice.
