Carpenter wanted for an immediate start

Location: South Somerset

Length: Temporary ongoing

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon – Fri

Main responsibilities of the role

  • Carry out carpentry works on a large commercial site providing advice as and when required
  • Responsible for completing a range of planned and reactive maintenance from a carpentry perspective across the site
  • Perform various carpentry tasks on site including hanging doors, repairing and fitting architraves and banisters
  • Keep building staff aware of job progress at all times
  • Remove and relay flooring materials, i.e. carpets, carpet tiles, linoleum, rubber, non-slip etc.
  • Paint and preserve any timbers that require it before their fixing (doors, windows, post, external joinery) so that they are fully sealed and treated
  • Ensure that all works are carried out and completed in accordance with industry standards and regulations, Health & Safety regulations 
  • Assist all other trades when and where necessary


Essential requirements:

  • You must have experience of working within the Carpentry trade
  • You will hold a City and Guilds qualification in Carpentry and/or equivalent NVQ/SVQ
