This charity are trying to solve a problem within the drug and alcohol field – not enough front line workers.  You will be part of the solution in this pioneering new role aimed at reaching out into the communtiy for potential recruits, and then mentoring and developing them to become front line workers.

This role is covering the borough of Southwark, with the charities office a short walk from Kennington tube station.  You will reach out to people with transferable skills who would like to work within the drug & alcohol support sector as front line workers.  They might have lived experience (through a family member, friend or direct experience) and could be volunteering at the moment but are seeking to make a career out of this.

The aim is to succesfully work with 25 people until March 25.  You will deliver one to one advice and guidance coaching, looking at developing the individuals life skills which could include goal setting, confidence building, and managing emotions.  To referring them to courses / programmes around safeguarding, boundries or an options to gain advice and guidance qualifications. The role is 5 days a week with a split between office and outreach locations in the boroug (where you will discuss the programme with potential particpants / meet them for 121's).  There might be occaional weekly homeworking (a half day or so here and there) but no fixed days on this, more as and when if its handy.

This would appeal to drug and alcohol workers who fancy a chage from the front line.  Careers Advisors who fancy something different.  Or graduates with a relevant degree (such as criminology or psychology) looking to launch their career (with some levant experience either paid or voluntary)
