Perennial is the nation's only charity dedicated to helping people in horticulture. Together with our network of partners, we provide free support, information, advice, financial assistance and services for horticulturalists and their loved ones experiencing illness, disability, bereavement, family breakdown and financial difficulties.

We have a real focus on improving the health and wellbeing outcomes of people working in horticulture and have an ambitious preventative strategy to create better futures for people working in horticulture.

The Fullers Mill Garden was created by the late Bernard Tickner MBE, who spent over 50 years creating the garden you see today. In 2013, the garden was gifted to Perennial, for its long-term preservation.

We are currently seeking a Café Assistant to join our team in Fullers Mill Garden on a permanent, part-time basis. The hours of work are 1:00pm - 5:30pm on Wednesdays, and 10:00am - 5:30pm from Friday to Sunday (Including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break).

The Role

As a Café Assistant, you will assist with the smooth running of our tearoom, The Bothy in Fullers Mill Garden.

Delivering excellent customer service, you’ll welcome visitors to the site, take orders, prepare and serve refreshments, handle cash, take payments and help with organising volunteers.

You’ll ensure the food areas are of the highest possible levels of cleanliness and hygiene and that the start and end of day procedures are completed.

Additionally, you’ll promote our membership services to visitors, where appropriate.

About You

To be considered as a Café Assistant, you will need:

- Experience in a public facing role
- Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
- Good organisational skills
- Team working skills
