As a Buyer, you'll be the driving force behind our purchasing operations, sourcing exciting new products and negotiating contracts to ensure we continue to deliver excellence to our customers. You will take charge of category management across various food and non-food categories and collaborate with key stakeholders to meet budget targets.

We are looking for a passionate, confident and articulate negotiator with strong analytical and numerical abilities. The successful candidate will have the determination to drive and deliver results in order to achieve set goals under pressure and tight deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet budget targets through effective negotiations, product and supplier reviews and innovative product sourcing
• Coordinate closely with Supply, Food, Marketing, and Operations Teams to seamlessly introduce products and menu launches that are both efficient and commercially viable
• Proactively source products that align with LEON's brand identity, customer preferences, and sustainability targets
• Uphold quality standards by conducting thorough product evaluations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and addressing any quality issues promptly
• Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and inform purchasing decisions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function, implementing best practices and fostering a culture of innovation
• Identify and mitigate potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and supplier dependencies, ensuring continuity of operations

Candidate Requirements:

• Purchasing experience within Food Service, Retail, or Wholesale
• Demonstrated expertise in food purchasing and working with third-party distributors
• Proven track record of negotiating
• Confident communicator, both written and verbal
• Ability to achieve set goals and deliver results under pressure and against tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel and general computer skills
• Capable of working autonomously while also being a team player, fostering relationships at all levels
