Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Business Services Co-ordinator to join our team on a fixed term contract until February 2025.

The People and Business Services Directorate is key to the delivery of our organisational strategy, and you’ll be seen as an essential part of its success. As a member of the Business Services team, you will pride yourself on delivering first class administrative support, sharing best practice, as well as your own knowledge and ideas.

Professional and customer focused, you’ll be a point of contact for colleagues at central office as you help them with a wide range of queries and tasks.

You’ll also be in regular contact with our property teams to plan meetings and team awaydays as a part of our commitment to connecting with each other and to our cause.

What it's like to work here

We're bigger than you think, we're more complicated than we appear and we're larger scale than you'd imagine. We've got passionate people in all our teams, and we've got so much more we want to achieve. We're for ever, for everyone and we really mean that. We don't want to stop at 5.5 million members and we want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, so we need to reach new audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them without losing the hearts and minds of those that are already with us.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend this office at least once a week. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You'll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week though. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

The National Trust is a busy organisation that has a lot going on at all times - you can guarantee that no day is the same so you’ll have to love variety.

You’ll be supporting leaders from the Engagement and Planning teams on the delivery of our People Plan and our 'Everyone Welcome' programme - which is our commitment to inclusion and diversity at the National Trust.

You’ll be responsible for diary management, keeping things simple and on track, with a flexible approach to managing and anticipating requirements.

You’ll organise complex travel itineraries and team building sessions at National Trust properties, working with both central and property teams to help plan events efficiently.

You’ll always champion best practice by sign-posting guidance and providing basic training to the wider team, enabling them to self-serve in areas such as business travel and purchasing. You’ll also play your part in supporting more efficient ways of working, smarter travel and our strategic aim to reduce carbon and cost.

As well as supporting day to day operations, you’ll have the chance to get involved in a variety of projects and offer your advice beyond your team. This could range from researching content for our monthly Directorate Briefings, refreshing our intranet pages, planning lunch and learn sessions, working with property teams on a programme of Learning at Workdays and bringing your own ideas and creativity to the Directorate’s annual conference.
