We are currently recruiting for a Business Intelligence Manager on behalf of our public sector client based in Croydon.

The client is recruiting to this role on a permanent basis. The salary range is £57,000 to £59,000 per annum. The role offers hybrid working, with 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.

  • Line management of 4 Senior Performance Data Officers and a Customer Insight Manager.
  • Lead the Performance team with oversight for business intelligence, risk and service learning within the housing directorate
  • Analysing and determining the most appropriate KPIs for scrutinising at the different governance panels
  • Ensuring the dashboard is accurate and up to date and ready in advance of panels
  • Scrutinising the robustness of data provided for KPIs
  • Driving the timely collation of data from multiple sources to draw conclusions on performance
  • Oversight of monitoring the performance data for the directorate as a whole, conducting analysis and drawing conclusions to inform strategic decision making and service improvement
  • Ensuring the team produce good quality reports using Excel, PowerBI, NEC and external data sources for senior leadership reports, resident panels, resident audience groups, councillors, etc
  • Producing the annual performance report for Housing
  • Producing the quarterly trend analysis report for the housing directorate
  • Review of regulatory feedback and consideration of impact on service
  • Leading on insight reporting on a regular basis to the directorate and council
  • Reviewing and forecasting performance based on historic data sets and big data analysis
  • Supporting the production of Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNA), working with the Head of Service to ensure that the business intelligence needs of the housing directorate are incorporated into the process
  • Getting the directorate prepared to monitor any upcoming new indicators arising out of changes in the sector
  • To lead the timely completion and submission of statutory, statistical and performance management returns for all service areas within the housing directorate

Key Skills & Knowledge required:

  • An applied understanding of the challenges and requirements of performance management, data quality and intelligence in a local government setting
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in electronic management of performance information and associated data and systems
  • Advanced knowledge of performance / intelligence / data quality in housing
  • Power BI, Microsoft Excel, NEC, Performance Management and reporting
  • Sector knowledge in relation to housing: tenant satisfaction measures, compliance KPIs, consumer standards
  • Working towards or achieved the CIH Level 5 or equivalent
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Well developed communication skills especially in complex and ambiguous circumstances
  • Track record of delivering and embedding a performance management culture with a clear development focus, including translating strategic plans into evidence based performance frameworks
  • Data modelling and extrapolation
