Our Client is one of the UK’s leading Independent Distributors of Construction Materials led by a dynamic Senior Management Team and is undertaking a period of expansion due to success.

As a result of their exciting growth plans our Client is seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager - Located in London

Specialists who are experienced in the Construction Material Distribution Sector and are driven by success.

Our Client is willing to offer a highly attractive salary package comprising of an extremely attractive basic salary coupled with an exceptional individual rewards package to ensure high achievers are suitably rewarded.

You will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with key customers, as well as identifying and closing new sales opportunities with a broad customer base including Construction Companies, Developers, Housebuilders, Fit Out Companies, Cladding Companies and Roofing Companies.

The Role.

Selling: Building materials and associated products to contractors operating in domestic and commercial construction projects and at all stages of the build cycle - ground works, floor, fabric, envelope, roofing, retrofit.

Maximising opportunities from an existing ledger alongside business creation with new customers to achieve monthly sales and margin targets.

Work closely with the Branch Manager and internal sales team to obtain and convert enquiries into orders.

Exceed customer expectations to become the supplier of choice.

Must Have Attributes.

  • Hunger and determination to increase revenue streams from existing customers and source new customer business.
  • Commercially astute with a demonstrable record of managing margins.
  • Effective sales knowledge of at least one of the following product sectors: insulation or drylining systems.
  • Effective sales knowledge of at least one of the following contractor sectors: drylining, ground workers, roofing, cladding, and main contractor.
  • Experience of being accountable for a minimum annual sales budget of £2m p.a.
  • Exemplary work ethic and team player.
  • Strive for excellence in all sales and customer-related matters.
  • Strong sales administration disciplines - quote management, CRM system, diary management etc.
  • Self-management to effectively operate in an external sales role, with diverse and widespread customers.

  • Enjoys the success of achieving sales and margin targets.
  • Drive, enthusiasm, competitive but not at any cost.
