Legal Expenses Underwriter

Location: Bristol

Salary: £26,000 to £32,500 + Good company benefits

The Role:

Working with various internal and external stakeholders you will specialist in legal expenses insurance. You will review and underwrite risks whilst also writing policy wordings ensuring appropriate terms for both new and existing customers.

You will have underwriting authority within your role to independently handle cases within your limits. The role has taken more of a direction towards a trading underwriter role which will involve technical skills and meetings with clients both virtually and in person.

The team is close knit and has an excellent work ethic but also enjoys the social aspect whilst all contributing to this high performing team.

The Required Skills:

You will need an analytical skill set, ideally with experience dealing with Excel spreadsheets

Ideally you will come from a technical insurance background

Although LEI is preferable due to its niche nature alternative insurance backgrounds will be considered, technical claims, commercial or personal lines underwriting or reinsurance

You will need a good eye for detail and be computer literature

Strong Organisational and Time Management skills are essential

A self-motivated personality who is keen to absorb teachings but also show the aptitude to self-learn and problem solve
