Engage Education is supporting a specialist school in the Staplefield area who are looking for Behaviour Mentors to join them. It is a special school catering for boys from age six to twelve with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), including those with Asperger’s Syndrome and those with a diagnosis of ADHD.

It is the job of support staff to provide a secure, consistent, structured environment where children can work to overcome and manage those issues in order to engage in education and achieve their potential.

Due to the location of this School, the ideal candidate will need to be a driver, as it is not accessible via Public Transport.

Your Role:

• Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex learning needs

• Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class

• Providing feedback to teachers and parents

• You will be assisting pupils with Complex Communication and Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities

What you will need:

• A range of behaviour management techniques

• To have worked with learners with a range of needs

• The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods

• To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time

• A resilient attitude
