NineTech have partnered a leading Insurance company that is driving innovation in the industry with their market-leading platform. Join their dynamic team and help shape the future of insurance technology as their new Backend Developer (PHP).
The Role:
As a Backend Developer, you'll play a key role in developing robust software solutions that power their insurance software suite. Working closely with Frontend Developers and design teams, you'll ensure seamless integration of backend components to deliver high-performance and functional software.
Responsibilities:
- Develop scalable features and functionalities their leading insurance platform
- Create custom integrations between our products and third-party systems using APIs, ensuring smooth connectivity
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting backend issues as they arise
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and provide constructive feedback on team members' contributions.
- Optimise applications for speed and scalability, following best practices and performance tuning techniques.
Essential Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with PHP, MySQL, and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in designing normalized database schemas.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to modern PHP MVC frameworks like Laravel or Symfony.
- Understanding of common design patterns (e.g., SOLID, TDD).
- Experience with testing tools like PHPUnit.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
Key Information:
- Salary up to £50,000
- Hybrid working - Bristol - once a month in the office
