Automotive Welder/Fabricator

A client in the motorsport sector is searching for a welder/fabricator with experience in thin wall material including Aluminium, Inconel and Stainless Steel. The client is offering a competitive salary of up to £40,000 dependant on experience.

You will be working in a small team, whilst also taking the initiative and relishing the responsibility of working on your own. You will have a strict attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines, and familiarity of working from technical drawings.

Duties:

- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of the metal components.
- Measure, cut, and shape metal pieces according to the specifications.
- Weld or join metal components using various welding techniques such as stick welding.
- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate measurements and dimensions.
- Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Repair or modify metal structures as needed.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a fabricator/welder or similar role.
- Proficient in using power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Skilled in various welding techniques such as stick welding.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
