Automotive Polisher
£33,000 - £40,000pa depending on experience
Monday - Friday, weekly rotating shifts of 06:00 - 14:00 & 08:00 - 16:00 - flexibility required

As an Automotive Polisher, you'll be responsible for refining paint surfaces on automotive parts using machine-operated polishing equipment. This role demands a thorough grasp of sanding materials and polishing techniques. Additionally, your expertise should encompass:
  • Meticulously attending to details that influence product aesthetics.
  • Preparing surfaces and rectifying paint imperfections such as "paint inclusions" or "orange peel" through your deep understanding of paint properties.
  • Proficiency in utilising both machine-operated and manual polishing methods to meet specified requirements.
  • Following established processes while also suggesting improvements to enhance overall product quality.
  • Adherence to strict deadlines critical for maintaining productivity levels.

Key Responsibilities:
" Adhering to all company guidelines and policies, particularly those related to Environmental, Health, and Safety standards, ethics, and values.
  • Contributing to maintaining high health and safety standards and following Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensuring consistent high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Efficiently managing the supply and movement of parts/products within the section.
  • Producing parts of exceptional quality and suggesting process enhancements as needed, collaborating with the paint department as required.
  • Completing all necessary process documentation according to build instructions.
  • Taking ownership of product quality within your area, ensuring compliance with quality systems.
  • Actively identifying potential obstacles, proposing solutions, and collaborating with your team to implement preventive measures.
  • Performing other reasonable tasks as delegated by your direct manager.

Key Skills:
  • Strong grasp of Quality improvement principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in numerical analysis and effective oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
  • Maintaining a positive and motivating demeanour to lead teams effectively.
  • Proactive attitude with a commitment to personal and organisational success.
  • Demonstrated experience in correcting surface defects and contamination.
  • Familiarity with paint thickness measurements and various paint finishes.
  • Competency in external paint detailing and corrective actions for surface finishing.
  • Prior experience and understanding of paint processing is advantageous.
  • Possession of an automotive trade certificate in related disciplines such as machine polishing or vehicle detailing is preferred.
