Automation Engineer

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a global tier 1 automotive company recruit an Automation Engineer,this newly created role comes with a salary of circa £50,000 p/a and excellent benefits, including an exceptional company enhanced pension.

This position is on site and days, Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5pm and Friday 8.30 am - 2pm.

As Automation Engineer, you will be supporting to deliver and then maintain and manage new industrial projects, including the state of the art, Hanging Shop Stock or HSS product storage facility, AGV implementation and IT interface to new systems. You will also be a key player in all key plant IPIs and support the operational managers in achieving targets using technical knowledge to support maintenance teams.

In your first few weeks in this Automation Engineer role, you can expect to:

• Support building the Interface between the AGV Floor Robots, fleet management system and shopstock with the IT/IS team ensuring launch ready and fully interactive set-up in place off a MES system
• Commission and create new equipment PM procedures plus any key information that will be needed by the wider team
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage the delivery of projects
• Be the primary contact for new industrial equipment supporting problem-solving analysis, MMTF, continuous monitoring and technical support for special plant activities

• Knowledge of Siemens PLC Systems
• Understanding of JAVA Script

• Fault-finding experience
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing and project management
