The Role

We are looking for Assistant Youth Workers to help us to work towards the achievement for better outcomes for children, young people and families in Hackney.

The Assistant Youth Worker is responsible and accountable for the delivery and evaluation of high quality open access and targeted programmes of youth work, primarily delivered through Young Hackney Youth Hubs, and via outreach in schools and community settings.

There are also vacancies in our Sports Unit who deliver youth work through sport and physical activity sessions. Experience of delivering open access and targeted youth work/youth participation programmes is essential.

This is a part time role 20 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours during holiday and busy periods.

The Candidate

Essential
Experience of delivering open access and targeted youth work/youth participation programmes
A satisfactory DBS check at enhanced level is required.

Desirable
Relevant professional qualification in Youth Work or Play Work
First Aid qualification
Arts, sporting or outdoor education qualifications, e.g. Music, drama, MLA, FA level 1
Knowledge of accreditation programmes that validate young people's achievements
