Assistant Underwriter OR Underwriter

Our client who is a Lloyds Managing Agency is looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join their expanding Commercial department in the London. The purpose of the role is to assist Underwriters while underwriting business to include Liability and Construction policies.

Main Duties:

• To provide efficient, timely and professional support to Brokers n respect of New Business Quotations and General Underwriting Enquiries
• Determine policy terms and calculating premiums in line with both in-house authority limits and insurer binding authority agreements

• Demonstrating your contribution to loss ratio control by effectively adhering to Company's underwriting controls.

• Meeting and where possible, exceeding brokers service levels and expectations.
• Identifies cover and hazards that will impact on the acceptance, pricing, or terms applicable to a risk.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key trading partners to maximize influence.

Essential Skills Required:

• Previous experience within a similar Insurance role
• Good knowledge of Underwriting procedures
• Achieved or studying Cert CII
• Good communication and organizational skills

Desirable:

• Good organisation skills
• Strong IT skills
