The Client:

A national contractor based in Bristol, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work alongside colleagues to price a variety of jobs from the existing client base from the initial inquiry through all costing’s stages to completion. Provide advice and reports on all commercial and financial aspects of projects and contracts.

Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for estimating new inquiries.
• Managing ongoing costs of live projects through to completion.
• Producing and sending inquiries to subcontractors inviting them to tender and engage with the supply chain.
• Produce bill of quantity/activity schedule for payment purposes.
• Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts.
• Attend and contribute to financial and progress meetings with the client and subcontractors when required.
• Provide advice and support to site teams and colleagues.

The Candidate:

• Excellent communication skills, both oral & written.
• Negotiation skills and ability to apply those skills internally and externally.
• Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally refurbishment and extension in the Education sector.
• Willingness to work on your own initiative and progress your career.
• HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying.
• CSCS card
