Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Artworker to join the Creative & Technical team based in their Litho business in Corby. This role will report into the Creative & Technical Solutions Manager on a permanent, on-site basis. The hours of work will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday & 9am to 4.45pm on Friday.

Main purpose of the role:

  • Working as part of the Creative & Technical team by carrying out artwork pre-flighting, briefing, origination and reprographic processing and pre-press activities for our Litho Packaging business, ensuring customers receive the best product and service.
  • Applying technical knowledge and understanding of both Litho and Digital print types as well as proofing and applied finishes and embellishments such as varnishes and foil blocking.
  • Supporting their market offer using expertise to answer creative briefs and provide high-quality visualisation, graphical design and prototyping, presentations etc.
  • Helping with the efficient running and on-going development of the Creative Department by effectively following processes and engaging with continual improvement.

Key tasks of the role:

  • Liaising with all relevant departments to ensure the achievement of critical path.
  • Downloading and pre-flighting customer artwork files, reporting any issues to the relevant Customer Service Executive.
  • Raising, keeping up to date and completing/archiving of job sheets.
  • Attending and participating in pre-production briefs, recording, and feeding back any relevant information.
  • Using Shuttleworth MIS system to respond to events raised by Customer Services as well as ensuring artwork related product / job information is up to date.
  • Processing and preparing customer supplied artwork files for production using Adobe Creative Cloud software, ensuring customer specifications are followed.
  • Producing PDF and Hard Copy proofs, as well as ordering ink colour swatches for customer approval.
  • Carrying out customer amendments as required.
  • Processing approved artwork files for plate production using Kodak Prinergy and Pandora software.
  • Assisting with in-house graphics requirements, such as creative marketing projects and presentations.
  • To work in accordance with all company certifications.
  • Actively engage and participate in all elements of Health and Safety requirements, whilst utilising the Health and Safety systems available.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills & experience:

  • An organised, enthusiastic, and flexible team player with a skill set underlined by at least 3 years’ experience in a creative art working/pre-press environment.
  • A solid level of competency using Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop, along with a good understanding of repro for Litho and Digital print processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and well organised with good, clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage workload whilst also working as part of the wider team.
  • Capacity to provide the highest levels of service under pressure, in a customer focused business environment, delivering against agreed deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think and act quickly to keep production running smoothly.
