What you will do:           

An apprenticeship with us will see you building new skills, while applying your knowledge to real-world live projects. At our Frome production facility we produce fire suppression products that are shipped worldwide. These are vital in the production of our globally distributed products.   • Based out of our Frome production facility our team manufacture fire suppression products. As part of your role, you will be trained in the skills necessary to operate CNC Machinery and contribute to the production process.
  • A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinist operates and programs machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders that are controlled by a computer to produce precision metal or plastic parts.
  • During the apprenticeship you will work in our tool shop working with various production machinery to produce bespoke components for our fire suppression systems.
  • On-the-Job Work Experience: You'll spend significant time with our qualified CNC Machinists, where you'll learn the skills necessary to develop your skills in a supportive environment.
  • Our primary focus lies in the production of sprinkler systems, which are single-use and tailored to meet individual customer specifications. This means that each project we undertake is unique.
  • Opportunities for Growth: Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll have the opportunity to grow and apply the skills and knowledge gained in college in a real workplace setting with the continued support of your mentor. This learning approach ensures that you develop both technical competencies and practical skills essential to become a successful CNC Machinist.

Requirements for the role:

  • GCSE or equivalent in English (Grade 5)
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths (Grade 5)

Training and Qualifications:

  • College Attendance: You'll attend college on either a day release or block release basis, depending on your location and the college's scheduling. You will be enrolled on a level 3 Engineering operative qualification. This structured education component will complement your on-the-job training, providing you with comprehensive knowledge and skills to become a successful maintenance technician.

What happens next?

  • Suitable candidates will have a screening call with a recruiter to discuss the position and provide necessary documentation. Afterward, you will be invited to an assessment centre in May, where they will participate in a practical assessment, meet the team, and have an interview.
  • Within 48 hours of the assessment centre, candidates will receive a response regarding the outcome of their application. If successful, they can begin the apprenticeship on September 2, 2024.
