Analytical Chemistry Supervisor

Rare opportunity for an accomplished Analytical Chemist to establish and lead a team within a brand-new laboratory facility!

Partnering with a leading research institution, you will be instrumental in establishing a brand-new contract testing facility specialising in wines & spirits analysis. In this state-of-the-art laboratory you will be appointed at Supervisor level and will be actively involved in setting up instrumentation including method validation as well as the implementation of quality guidelines for UKAS accreditation.

Holding a high level of accountability for general laboratory conduct and ensuring departmental targets are met, you will hold responsibility for day-to-day team management including development, training and recruitment of a small group of Analysts. Also working hands-on within the laboratory, you will undertake a vast array of wines & spirits testing, including HPLC/MS/GC, wet chemistry, and sensory analysis (for which training can be provided) for the detection of a range of analytes and taints.

Applications are welcomed from Senior Scientists/Supervisors who have a strong background in Analytical Chemistry from an ISO 17025 facility, ideally food & drinks. You must have a flair for motivating and developing a small team, and enthusiasm for contributing to the success of this brand-new venture.
