Accounts Assistant

  • Job Type: Full-time or Part-time (4 days per week)

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team at a leading retail manufacturing company. With a focus on growth and employee progression, we are seeking an individual who is passionate about financial administration, has excellent organisational skills, and maintains integrity and professionalism.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Work alongside the Senior Accounts Assistant, Accountant & Operations Director.
  • Oversee UK finances/expenses, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable for our parent company in Hong Kong.
  • Liaise closely with logistics/supply team, sales teams, suppliers in the Far East and UK, and customers.
  • Maintain bank accounts for both UK and HK operations.
  • Manage UK overheads on Quickbooks Online, including reconciliation and updating management reports.
  • Handle monthly salary payments, payments to HMRC for PAYE & NIC, and preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Process payments to suppliers, employee expenses, and for import/export activities.
  • Take responsibility for financial queries and monthly overhead reviews with the Operations Director.
  • Maintain and update customer invoice lists, process payments received, and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Assist in the transition of the parent company bank account from Hong Kong to the UK.
  • Communicate daily with customers, factories, sales, and logistics teams.
  • Perform ad-hoc finance tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Exceptional administration and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience with accounting packages, ideally including Quickbooks.
  • Team player with great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively self-manage and work under pressure.
  • Positive, proactive, and eager to learn.
  • Passionate about delivering superb customer service.
