Salary: Up to £48,000

Our Client

Autograph Recruitment is delighted to be working with an established, and leading fuel distribution business, based near Caldicot. As our client continue to grow, they are now looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant.

The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining the financial accuracy of the business by processing transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

This is a great opportunity for a local candidate to become a key part of in a family feel business.

Responsibilities of Accountant:

• Process financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable
• Raising sales invoices and statements
• Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the wider business
• Analyse financial data and trends to create detailed financial reports
• Prepare tax returns and submit VAT
• Process payroll via Sage
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and reports
• Preparing month end
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations

The Ideal Candidate:

• ACA or ACCA qualified or equally qualified by experience within a similar role
• Familiar with using Sage software
• Planning and organisational abilities, able to prioritise workload accordingly and work to deadlines timely
• Ability to implement and improve process
• Proficient across Microsoft platforms, Excel in particular
• A key team player who can engage and develop strong relationships
