The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Barnsley area. We are looking for several dedicated 7.5 Tonne drivers to join the team on nights.

Hours: Shifts across Monday to Saturday (Sunday night to Friday night), midnight to 2am start times (approximately 8-10 hours shifts).

Pay Rate: £13.25 per hour PAYE.

Location: Barnsley, S74.

Job Type: Long term ongoing.

The role:

  • Pick up the vehicle from our client's site and drive to our client's customer location.
  • Driver will be required to load the van with the designated items and the vehicle will be sealed after loading (a photograph of the interior will be taken).
  • Following this, driver will then commute to one of our client's depots and unload the vehicle under supervision, documenting the unloaded items by taking a photo of the interior.
  • Returning to the original depot empty.
  • Occasionally doing collection runs as required.

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence with 7.5 Tonne entitlement (category C1).
  • Minimum of 3 months proven experience.
  • Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
  • Successful completion of assessment, including theory element which is two questionnaires based on drivers' hours and road laws and a practical element which will be based on yard reversing and a short driving test.
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A safety-first mindset.
  • Be accustomed to working unsociable hours.
