1:2:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Temporary)
Location: Durham Primary School
Contract Type: Term-time only
Working Pattern: Part-time or full time
Duration: April 2024 until July 2024
Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join our team. The successful candidate will work on a 1:2:1 basis with students who have special educational needs. This role requires someone who can effectively manage challenging behaviour, actively contribute to planning, and promote progress.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students with SEN, ensuring their well-being and engagement in learning.
- Collaborate with the Class Teacher to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and adapting materials to meet students' needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with significant learning needs.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and early years education.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to the values and ethos of our school.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Enhanced DBS disclosure (or willingness to apply).
