Role Overview: The Manufacturing Quality Technician plays a critical role in an electrical assembly manufacturing company by ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures throughout the production process. Reporting to the Test &amp; Inspection Team Leader with a dotted line to the Quality Manager, this role involves monitoring and inspecting products at various stages of production, identifying defects, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Manufacturing Quality Technician collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet the highest quality standards and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Quality Control: Conduct inspections and tests on electrical assemblies, mechanical assemblies and components to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Perform incoming inspection on components, units and manufactured parts to ensure they conform to all relevant drawings and documentation Perform thorough visual and functional checks on finished products, identifying any defects or non-conformities. Utilize measurement tools and equipment to verify product dimensions and specifications. Record and document inspection results, maintaining accurate quality records and reports. Process Monitoring: Monitor production processes to identify potential quality issues and deviations from established procedures. Collaborate with the production team to implement process controls and corrective actions to prevent quality problems. Conduct periodic audits and checks on production lines to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures. Provide feedback and recommendations to the Production Manager and Quality Manager on process improvements. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: Investigate and analyse product failures, non-conformities, and customer complaints to determine root causes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures. Maintain documentation of root cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring timely completion and effectiveness. Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality improvement projects and initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality. Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains to minimize defects and rework. Collaborate with the Quality Manager and Production Manager to develop and implement quality improvement strategies. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in quality management practices. Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to production operators on quality standards, inspection techniques, and defect prevention. Support the development and implementation of quality training programs for production personnel. Assist in resolving quality-related issues and answering queries from production teams. Required Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in electrical assembly. Strong knowledge of quality control techniques, inspection methods, and root cause analysis. Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to electrical assembly manufacturing. Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in conducting inspections and documenting findings. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts is a plus.

Quality Technician

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Industrialisation Manager to join our dynamic team in the field of electrical test and installation, specifically focusing on radar systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing principles and have extensive knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). This role will involve overseeing the technical transfer of industrialization processes, ensuring efficient production methods, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize our manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities: Industrialisation Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for the industrialisation of radar systems production, focusing on optimizing processes, reducing lead times, and enhancing product quality. Lean Manufacturing Implementation : Utilize lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes, eliminate waste, and improve overall efficiency. Lead kaizen events and continuous improvement projects to drive operational excellence. Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES): Leverage MES systems to monitor production performance, track key metrics, and make data-driven decisions to enhance productivity and quality. Collaborate with IT and operations teams to optimize MES functionality and integration. Process Optimization: Analyse existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement. Implement changes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with quality standards. New Product Introduction (NPI): Lead the industrialisation efforts for new radar system products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production, technical transfer from our sister company and Develop manufacturing plans, process documentation, and training materials for NPI projects. Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers to optimize component sourcing, lead times, and quality. Identify opportunities for supplier improvement and implement supplier development initiatives as needed. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout the manufacturing process. Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement. Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to industrialisation teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Mentor team members and develop talent to support long-term organisational growth. Qualifications: Proven experience in industrialization or manufacturing engineering roles within the electrical/electronics industry, preferably in radar systems or similar high-tech products. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping). Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive results. Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change. Production Engineering Manager

Position Overview: At Saab, we are constantly looking ahead and pushing boundaries on what´s considered technically possible. Saab is expanding in the UK and we are now seeking talented and highly motivated Integration and Verification Engineers to support our radar and sensors activities at our Fareham office. Much of our current work is centred on the G1X radar, which is the newest radar in Saab's portfolio - a software defined radar with a regular capability update cycle post-delivery, as well as an established production line. As an Integration and Verification Engineer you will work closely with both our Production Team and our Development Team to ensure that products are configured and operating correctly ahead of delivery to end users. Whilst the role is based in Fareham there will be opportunities for trips to Sweden for training and knowledge transfer. Key Responsibilities: The Integration and Verification Team are a key part of delivering assured product to end users, by taking responsibility for the integration and verification of product, working seamlessly with Production to maintain production delivery targets. Key responsibilities include: Support Integration and Verification Team Leader to commission and maintain the Systems Lab Support Integration and Verification Team Leader to commission and maintain the external Systems Test Range and associated equipment Integrate and verify major product sub-systems Integrate and verify new build product complete systems Integrate and verify product updates Support customer equipment fault diagnosis and recovery Required Skills: As a person you are positive, social, result oriented and a team player with a background in test and measurement or systems test and integration (3-5 years minimum) Be familiar with programming and use of standard test and measurement equipment used in either a communications, radar or electronic warfare systems environment Enjoy working and developing in a team Like cooperating with others but are capable of working individually as well Good technical communication skills During your employment you will handle tasks and materials that are classified as military secret and therefore you must have a UK or Swedish citizenship

Integration & Verification Engineer

With a wide ranging remit to manage and execute the full lifecycle of test engineering, from definition of test-cases through development of test tools to the execution of testing and management of facilities. As such it will suit someone with a broad spread of engineering knowledge, imagination and drive. Key accountabilities and responsibilities: Analyse conformance specifications to derive test requirements Plan, design and communicate test cases which validate requirements across a broad spread of electro-mechanical systems for both the development and production lifecycle phases. Design test jigs, harnesses and software to allow execution of test cases including, where appropriate, automation. Implement data processing/filtering software in a variety of packages to extract relevant results Manage the internal test facilities (test tanks, ovens, pools, lifting equipment) Liaise with external test facilities (EMC, vibration, pools, etc) Execute tests in a clear, safe and controlled manner Fault finding and failure analysis Documentation and presentation of results and findings. Essential Skills: HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline Min 3 years in a test focussed role, or within test equipment development Proven experience in data capture and analysis Proven experience working on multi-disciplinary systems (electrical, mechanical, software) Experience working within an engineering NPI environment Excellent knowledge of test equipment and platforms Excellent communicator: both written and verbal Exposure to NPI design phases - with working to Design / Systems requirements Able to generate test cases from requirements to verify / validate the designs Experience of National Instruments test software platforms, able to create test software test functions within the National Instruments environment Experience with control of National Instruments hardware and propriety test equipment as in control , read / write, obtain data, compute, data management Hands on with electronic circuit construction / testing / diagnostics Innovative and creative mindset with sound engineering principles Ability to work unsupervised to tight timescales Knowledge of product certification, best-practice and industry standards Enthusiasm, drive and personality! Create high quality test reports Data capture - logging Desirable: Experience in the offshore and/or subsea industry Experience working within a Production Test facility Knowledge / experience in the creation of test executives within NI LabView / TestStand Software Software programming / scripts (Python, C, C#, C , VB, etc) Specification / build / commissioning / Support of test equipment Understanding of Mechanical principles, and working knowledge of applications Knowledge of compliance standards and certification (CE/DNV) Previous experience in a customer-facing role
