Argos is a unique retailer recognised for choice, value and convenience and is part of the Home Retail Group, which is the UK’s leading home & general merchandise retailer, with sales of almost £6 billion in the last financial year.
We currently have over 700 stores throughout the UK and are opening more every year. That means that there is an Argos within 10miles of 95% of the UK population. We also have an increasing presence in the Republic of Ireland, a fact we're extremely proud of. With a sales turnover of over £4.1 billion, we must be doing something right at Argos and to be honest, we think our success is all down to our company wide commitment to putting the customer first and our exceptional customer service.
We've always been dedicated to providing our customers with the best range of goods at the most competitive prices. Not to mention the most convenient shopping experience. This has meant we've continually evolved to improve and widen the range of services we offer. From front of store concepts, like our quick-pay kiosks, to technological innovations, such as our 'click & collect' and 'text & take home' facilities that allow customers to easily reserve goods online or by mobile, we've never been ones to rest on our laurels.
As a Manager with us you'll embrace this focus on our customers and bring it together with our people in perfect harmony. Combine this with the everyday retail and sales challenges you'll face and we're pretty confident that you'll never find boredom an option.
For one thing, we've 3 peak trading periods to keep you on your toes. That's, one Christmas and two catalogue launches. With the Argos catalogue being such an institution, the increase in business you'll see when it hits the shelves is so significant, that it's almost like having another Christmas rush. Add to this the number of additional offers, sales and promotions we run throughout the year and you'll understand why we don't really 'do' slow days.
The management challenge of dealing with these busy periods is huge. To handle the extra business, at busier times, you may have to double your staff on the shop floor. So you'll not only be relying on your own management skills, but also the teamwork ethos that you'll work hard throughout the year to develop in your staff.
Of course in achieving our success we realise that we can only be as good as our people. These are the ones who deliver the outstanding customer service that makes Argos more than just another shop, and keep our customers coming back for more, time and time again.
There are many people within our management teams who will openly admit that they never really thought that the retail industry could live up to their aspirations. But as a business with ambitious growth plans, you'd struggle to find a more rewarding career. So whether you're looking to take your first steps in a retail career, develop your Customer Advisor or Sales experience, or expand on your management experience, we can offer you an exciting future.
