Course Overview
The AAT Level 2 Certificate is an internationally recognised qualification that provides a solid grasp of essential accounting skills and principles. By the end of this course you will understand the basics of manual and computerised accounting and how to use these techniques in a 'real world' setting.
This is an entry level course so it’s ideal if you’re starting from scratch or have a basic knowledge. Upon completion you have the option of undertaking further training to progress towards the full Accounting Technician status. You will also be ready to apply for your first specialist accounting role. Sage Instant Accounts – the UK’s most popular payroll software – is included in the cost.
You should be able to complete the course within approximately 160 hours of study and your study materials will cover a wide variety of topics and subjects such as:
Introduction to Business Accounting
The Banking System
Credit Control
Business Law
The Cash Book
Qualification
This course prepares you to sit the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Certificate for Accounting Technicians, which will involve passing two external exams. You will also have the option of taking the Sage Certificate of Competency. The Level 2 Certificate is the first of four stages in the AAT pathway. The full Accounting Technician qualification is approximately equivalent to the first year of an honours degree and secures entry into one of the chartered accountancy bodies such as Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Careers
With the AAT Level 2 Certificate you will be equipped for roles such as a Book-Keeper, Accounts Clerk, Company Cashier, Sales or Purchase Ledger Clerk, or trainee Financial Accounts Assistant.
