Course Overview

If you enjoy numbers and wish to start a career as a Book-Keeper then this course is ideal. Book-Keeping is a growing profession. It's challenging and rewarding and Book-Keepers are needed by every business. The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) Manual and Computerised Book-Keeping course will enable you to master the world standard 'Double Entry System' of keeping accounts.

This will be accomplished via a variety of interesting and practical examples and assignments. You’ll also learn how to perform computerised bookkeeping using Sage - one of the most popular accounting packages on the market. Qualified Book-Keepers can command salaries of up to £20,000* per annum. You should be able to complete the entire course within approximately 120 hours of study and your course material will cover a wide variety of topics and subjects such as:

• Trial balances
• Profit and loss accounts, income and expenses
• Banking systems, business law and data protection
• Balance sheet, assets and liabilities
• Accruals, prepayments and depreciation

Qualification

After completing 12 assignments you will be required to pass three external exams to gain your final qualification. At this point you will become an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Book-Keepers (AICB). The ICB is the largest Book-Keeping association in the world with over 150,000 members. If you wish to gain full membership, you need to go on and pass the Advanced Level ICB exams.
