Workforce Support Officer With CRB

To support the ongoing development of the training plan to achieve the targets set in the Directorate Improvement Plan and the partnership priorities.

To co-ordinate training provision, ensuring training is accessible and addresses the needs of Children's Services and the children and young people's workforce.

To contribute to the work of the Partnership and Workforce Development Service through close liaison with colleagues, other agencies and organisations.

To develop and monitor the training providers on the Preferred Training Providers' List to ensure that the terms of the contract are met and that quality training is delivered.

Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks:

To support the planning and implementation of  programmes of good quality training which meets diverse needs, maintaining and developing existing provision and commissioning new training.

To investigate areas of need and sectors not catered for and to propose solutions which ensure good quality opportunities.

To work closely with colleagues to identify and develop projects that meet the service improvement requirements

To build relations with relevant training agencies/providers ensuring consistency in the scope, quality, affordability and accessibility of  training being offered across the County.

To maintain links with across the Children's Services Directorate to help ensure a consistency of approach to training development across all services.

To offer advice and guidance on training and qualifications, and raise awareness of training opportunities available.

To publish information that signposts people to training and take responsibility for the production of the information.

To develop and implement a quality framework which enables comparative evaluation of the effectiveness of training activities and to ensure consistent implementation of evaluation procedures.

To provide regular reports evaluating training activities and highlighting successful responses to identified service needs.

To monitor all courses supported by Children's Services funding and ensure systems are in place to track beneficiaries and outcomes.

To provide budget information and to investigate other sources of funding to support training as required.

To work with others to develop appropriate support networks for training providers, assessors and mentors.

To organise training events and conferences as required.

To liaise with the WCC Contracts and Commissioning Team to ensure that the requirements of the Procurement Code are maintained.

 General Duties:

To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.

To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

To undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the post and/or as detailed in the Directorate’s Health and Safety Policy.

Contacts:

In all contacts the postholder will be required to present a good image of the Directorate and the County Council as well as maintaining constructive relationships.

Internal:           Partnership and Workforce Development staff, colleagues across Children's Services

External:          practitioners in partner agencies including the VCS, Training Providers, Children's Services Colleagues, Conference Organisers.
