We have a new opportunity available within our IT function for a Workplace Engineer. You will be responsible for the support of all Infrastructure and Networks within Yodel. You will provide technical leadership for the delivery of projects and support the Yodel server and network estate.

Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Schedule, control, and support delivery of IT provision, support, hardware, and developments in a timely, cost effective, and efficient way
Support of the IT server, end user, telephony and network infrastructure
Support of Identity and End Point Security infrastructure
Supervises all maintenance and installation work
Provide appropriate status and other reports to specialists, users and managers.
Ensure operational procedures and working practices are fit for purpose and current
Draft and maintain standards and procedures for service component capacity management
Ensures all maintenance work is prepared for presentation to the CAB
Prepares technology proposals for presentation to Architecture Review Board
Work to develop the IT vision and strategy and their translation into priorities and actions
Preparation for new or changed services, management of the change process and the maintenance of regulatory, legal and professional standards
Contribute to the IT strategy and assist with the research and development of new technologies
Supports the design, procurement, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance and effective use of IT infrastructure components and monitors their performance.
Provides Technical point for Project Technical queries and resource requirements

Essential Experience
Experience applying technology solutions to business problems
Have a broad technical knowledge including Windows/ Linux/ Cisco & Budget controls
Strong understanding of infrastructure principles and architecture
Experience with networking devices and protocols and storage systems
Proven track record in using development methodologies or recognised project management techniques to deliver successful IT developments
Ability to combine strategic vision with the achievement of demonstrable operational results for the business as well as ensuring robust and secure systems
Able to communicate the realities and possibilities of ICT to non-technical audiences including managers and staff
Experience of driving through effective change sensitive to the needs of the organisation
Ability to influence design and development of new and changed systems and services to optimise operational efficiency
