Our client is a well known pet insurance company who provides sales, administration and claims management services for a range of pet insurance policies, providing peace of mind for owners and the best possible care and protection for their pet. Due to growth they have created a new position in a fast-paced environment for a Web Developer based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The Role - Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Advice and guidance for the continuing development of our clients` web presence
• Prompt investigation of system faults, providing software and/or data fixes as appropriate
• Design, development, testing and implementation of new software and updates
• Liaison with external suppliers to ensure software development, updates and/or data is delivered on time and to specification, resolving issues where necessary
• Keep up to date with system related technical innovations
• System changes and enhancements to be fully documented and documentation produced to department standards
• Weekly status updates detailing progress against plan and any issues
• New programs and changes to be written in a style that is easy for the user to operate and for the IT team to maintain
• Good feedback from the end users and from the rest of the IT team
• Carry out additional duties requested by a member of the management team, as the requirements of the business demand
The Person - Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
• Educated to degree level : IT, Mathematics or business related subjects or equivalent commercial experience
• Ideally 4 + years experience in technical web developing with experience of managing external suppliers
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of customer service principles
• An understanding or awareness of insurance principles; any knowledge of pet insurance would be an advantage
• Understanding of C# ASP.Net, HTML, CSS and SQL Server 2000-2008 would also be an advantage
The Package : What You Could Earn:
• Basic salary up to £40,000 per annum dependant on experience
