Web Content Designer


We are now recruiting for a Web Content Designer to add to this successful team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role of Web Content Designer will be based within the IT department.

The role focuses on designing and managing graphic assets reflecting the Corporate Brand within a custom Content Management System and E-commerce platform, ensuring a seamless transition between key E-commerce components with no adverse impact on underlying functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create design prototypes, including web pages, site navigation, landing pages, template and layout of content, for web-based applications, E-mail campaigns and corporate web site.
  • Create graphical assets, such as banner ads, press and media releases.
  • Partner with development team to ensure designs are interpreted and implemented as specified.
  • Ensure that the layout of the content is accessible and logical; recommend improvements to CMS structure, templates and modules as necessary.
  • Create visual concepts and assets that match corporate image; ensure that content is easy to navigate.
  • Create email marketing templates

Person Specification:

  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team

  • Pro-active, resourceful and able to use initiative
  • Ability to effectively manage own workload.

Required Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of digital imaging using Adobe Photoshop / CS
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (Chrome, IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
  • Able to monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as necessary

Advantageous Skills:

  • Knowledge of HTML5
  • Knowledge of CSS
  • Experience with online digital media including digital compression technologies
  • Experience of working in an office environment, particularly e-commerce.

Annual Salary: to £25K dependent on experience. Benefits include a MacBook Pro and thunderbolt screen.


Hours of Work: Usual working hours will be between 8:30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday.
