Our client based in Harlow is seeking a Web Co-ordinator with at least 1-2 years experience of managing content of an e-commerce website.

Job Profile:

  • Administration role, maintaining the content, functionality and appearance of our client’s web presence.
  • Direct report to E-Commerce Manager, in close collaboration with Catalogue Manager
  • Organise and action the administration, design and production of web pages and offsite material to suit brand, market, product and season, working within scheduling and budgetary requirements. 
  • Liaise with Catalogue Team, external Web Developer and E-Commerce Manager to ensure our Web product merchandising is accurate, up-to-date, contemporary, and produced to the highest standard. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Website content maintenance including product text, imagery, attributes, search hierarchy, indexes, company news, external links, SEO keywords and any non-technical configuration
  • Interpret company information (catalogues, publicity, product changes and other sources), check for context and continuity, and adapt where necessary to improve its effectiveness on the website
  • Ensure all website additions and changes are promptly actioned and proofread for accuracy
  • Control the design and content of web pages through to publication on the internet
  • Manage the website content management system to enhance sales and customer experience
  • Work in conjunction with our IT department to ensure our website is maintained in first class order
  • Respond to general website queries escalated by our Customer Services team; refer deeper technical issues to IT where appropriate
  • Make an active contribution to optimising website content for SEO purposes
  • Work up email campaigns and use analytical tools to improve conversion rates
  • Play a lead role in establishing relevant social media opportunities
  • Develop an understanding of current and future online marketing strategies, following scheduled business plan activities and assist in their implementation to enhance sales opportunities
  • Support the development of innovative and lucrative online marketing activities as directed and according to best practice
  • Contribute to the creative development of the Marketing department

Qualifications:

  • Suitable qualification in Business Information Systems, English or Marketing is required
  • Educated to A Level or Degree standard, ideally within a business related discipline

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years managing content of an e-commerce website is essential

Knowledge:

  • Good working knowledge of e-commerce or catalogue content management systems
  • Competent working with HTML, Excel, Word and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with the internet, how it works and new developments
  • Best practice and discipline in managing web content
  • IBM Web-sphere or Magento experience would be an asset
