Weapons Systems Engineer
Why not put your spare time to good use - and get more out of life? There’s a Territorial Army role waiting for you right now.
You’ll be inspecting, repairing and maintaining all our combat systems: from rifles and machine guns right up to the AS90 self-propelled gun. In other words, you’ll be playing a vital part in supporting our TA soldiers by making sure their weapons are in tip-top condition and fit to fire.
You’ll need to be aged between 17 and 42 and physically fit with good hand-to-eye coordination. Helpful, practical and responsible, you’ll enjoy working outside, taking risks and being part of a team. You could be interested in shooting, driving or flying - or have a background in combat, ammunition handling or aviation electronics. Our training will do the rest.
After learning basic soldiering skills and engineering techniques, you’ll be taught how to repair and modify weapons and inspect optical instruments. This will include getting to grips with tools, gauges and precision measuring equipment so you can repair and manufacture components too.
Do More. Be More.
You must be fabricator, panel beater, welder, fitter/turner, in an apprenticeship or studying in an engineering college. Candidates must have UK Citizenship.
