Voids Co-ordinator

We are currently recruiting a Voids Coordinator who will be responsible for providing a co-ordination service for the void property element of the Available Homes team’s work. The successful candidate will ensure that all relevant works are completed and statutory certification is processed and available within target to enable the efficient re-letting of void properties. You will liaise directly with the Housing team and contractors to ensure a seamless process of void management provided by the Available Homes Team.

Reporting into the Available Homes Manager, you will work closely with other team members comprising of Available Homes Officers and Available Homes Assistants who collectively allocate around 1000 empty properties a year.

Day to day duties will involve raising and authorising works orders, liaising with contractors, Maintenance Surveyors / Inspectors and internal departments, collating and supplying Housing and Data Management teams with all regulatory records and files and ensuring these are certified, as well as reporting on operational progress by contractors and Metropolitan maintenance staff against performance targets.

Our ideal candidate will be a confident communicator and will have experience of building and sustaining relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels. Excellent customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to your own transport. 

Essential Criteria:
  • Well-developed communication skills. Able to build and sustain working relationships with key stakeholders
  • A demonstrable track record of delivering service excellence to a customer base. A record of achievement in making a difference
  • Good planning, organising and prioritisation skills
  • Able to interpret financial and other systems data
  • An interest in the work of Metropolitan and social housing in particular
