UK2 Midrange Operations

Working as part of a small Midrange shift monitoring thousands of Intel, Unix and Network devices 24x7x365 via Tovilo toolset. Performing 1st and 2nd level monitoring Recovery, Performing Changes to 2nd level. Server patching and reboots. This small on shift team also supports New Business (RFS) and Transition and Transformation alongside delivery. Role has to have Government SC clearance to support Equifax IPS and Defra from Warwick Command centre. All out of line situations need to be reported via multiple problem and Change tools such as MAXIMO , NRCPMA, Remedy, HEAT, Managenow. All systems are delivered to SLA 24x7x365. Also includes SAV monitoring Patching, Backup Failure monitoring and reporting via Bocada and investigations and Veritas Netbackup, Double Take, NT Backup,
Main Accountabilities:
- Mid-range Console Operations Intel via Tivoli and BMC Patrol includes System, Application and Middleware monitoring
- Unix and Intel Command Line skills.
- Mid-range Batch Operations using ControlM with 1st and 2nd level fix.
- Good Job Code skills in Midrange
- Email Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office basics.
- Use of Incident, Problem and Change practices with use of Assyst and preferred Maximo or other Incident, Problem and Change tools
- Good customer skills and interpersonal skills required as customer contact is required.
- Ability to work Continental shift pattern, Days and Nights 12 hours shifts
- Ability to work in a multi platform layered Operational Delivery Centre
- Ability to work to Contract SLA;s, OLA's
- Ability to work in a Team
- Ability to Identify and deliver Service Improvements
- Ability to travel to customer site if required.
- Ability to Mentor and Train other members of the team
- Ability to learn new skills
Experience and Qualifications:
- Mainframe Console Operations via Console and HMC monitoring System, Application alerts and 1st and 2nd level PD and fix/escalation with IPL of systems, using TSO and Netview. JES2, VTAM Network Operational understanding, CICS Operational skills, ADABAS Operational skills
- Mainframe Batch Operations using ControlM includes 1st and 2nd level Job fix and restart.
- Good JCL skills for Mainframe
