The Team has a gapped TriStar Safety Advisor post at the Marshall Aerospace site, Cambridge. This post will primarily be responsible, as part of an Airworthiness and Safety team, for advice to engineering desk officers, development of the safety management system particularly improving the maturity of the platform Safety Case and the associated Hazard Log.
The post requires travel to various locations mostly within the UK, typically RAF Brize Norton and MOD Abbey Wood.
- Provision of airworthiness and safety specific advice and support to HTPT 7 staff leading TriStar in-service support activities, including platform modifications and routine meetings such as Integrity Working Groups.
- Management and control of the TriStar platform Safety Case Argument, including maintaining auditable argument evidence.
- Maintenance of the TriStar Hazard Logs, co-ordinating updates and reviews and progressing development of Hazards to ALARP status.
- Organising, facilitating and record-keeping for regular TriStar Hazard Review Boards and Hazard Working Groups.
- Reporting on TriStar hazard status as required.
- Organising, facilitating and record-keeping for regular TriStar Equipment Safety Panels.
- Preparation of material and information for, and support to, HTPT TL at platform Air System Safety Working Group (ASSWG), Director Air Support 2* Airworthiness Review, Platform Project Board and Airworthiness Management Group meetings. Monitoring of TriStar DASORs, looking for issues and trends with implications for the platform Safety Case Argument, platform hazards and/or MoD/HTPT airworthiness policy and process.
- Direct HTPT Safety Support Contractors activities necessary to provide additional support to the above.
- Maintain an awareness of branch activities and assist colleagues on occasions of high workload and absence.
- Participate in Branch Reviews. Undertake other tasks as reasonably directed by Line Manager.
The incumbent must be able to demonstrate that they have some experience in Safety Assurance, ideally in an aircraft environment. In addition they will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively within a team, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be computer literate.
It is anticipated that the incumbent will have a degree or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline or ex-service exemption.

This is a 12 month contract paying £379 per day.
