Travel Planning Advisor

Our Client Herefordshire Council is recruiting a number of Personal Travel Planning Advisors to work 21 hours per week from end of February 2012 for approximately 5 months. The role of the Travel Advisor is to contact residents in the Hereford Personal Travel Planning area to carry out face to face discussions and to offer travel information and advice. Contact is primarily through doorstep interviews and public engagement events. Requirements: * Good communication skills with ability to communicate appropriately and sensitively. * Good reading, writing, numeracy and IT skills and ability to take and record clear and accurate notes of a participant's needs * Ability to work flexible hours from a home base as part of a team with minimal supervision and plan and manage own workload effectively. * Willingness to take specialised training as appropriate for the project e.g. cycle training. * Experience of using Hereford's public transport, walking and cycling network. * Working knowledge of the geography of the Three Elms, St Nicholas and Belmont wards in Hereford. A CRB check will be need to be undertaken for all successful applicants The 21 hours per week will be across 6 days mainly evening and weekend working.
