Job Description
Our client a large FMCG company has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Shift Manager to join their team. The successful candidate, who must have a proven track record in Transport Management, will be responsible for ensuring that the delivery schedules, service levels and human resource commitments are met on a daily basis.
Job Description:-
- To manage the transport team on a daily basis to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- To ensure that all administration is maintained and kept up to date.
- Support, manage and train the transport team in all aspects of Health & Safety and ensure compliance with legislation and company requirements.
- Manage the absence and holiday procedures for drivers.
- To ensure that vehicles that have been VOR by drivers comply with the procedures.
- Maintain and plan vehicle maintenance, ensuring vehicles are repaired as quickly as possible.
- Manage all HR aspects of the business including disciplinaries.
- Ensure compliance with security procedures both on the premises and in the vehicles.
- Presentation of Management Reports to Management team on a weekly basis.
Qualifications/Requirements:-
- CPC National Freight.
- Proven track record in Transport Management, preferably in a FMCG distribution, but is not essential.
- Excellent knowledge of transport/driver legislation.
- Ability to manage and plan team/drivers rotas.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Accurate reporting skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Decisive in decisions and cope under pressure.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Resourceful and determined to get standards achieved.
Salary:-
Up to £32000 DOE.
Hours:-
7pm to 7am 4 days on 4 days off. (With flexibility.)
