As Transport Manager for this General Haulage company you will be responsible for the South Yorkshire site and a smaller satellite depot with a combined fleet of up to 20 vehicles. You will be responsible for 7 personnel made up of3 Planners and Admin staff. As this is a relatively small depot, this will be a hands on role. When other staff are absent or off site, you will be responsible for taking on their responsibilities (this will include planning/routing, compliance, admin etc)
Daily duties will include the coordination of fleet and trunk planning together with responsibility for leading fleet and staff compliance. Through working with colleagues, the maintenance and improvement of HSSEQ standards and positive working practices at the Depot is also a key part of the role.
Overall objectives will be developed in line with the company's strategic objectives. The role will report to the General Manager and offers an excellent development opportunity within the business.
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 47.5 hours.
Ideal Transport Managers will:
- be a CPC holder
- have experience of managing a fleet of20 plus vehicles
- have pallet network experience
- have planning experience
- have experience of managing drivers
- be commercially aware for rates and backhaul
