Job Description

My prestigious client based in the North West is currently looking for a Training and Development Manager to join the HR team. In this role you will partner with regional managers to create a comprehensive training programme to support the continuous development of their people on a nationwide basis.

Responsibilities will be varied and extremely challenging including:
• The design, development and delivery of group and individual training programmes to enhance the skills, knowledge and competence of all retail staff.
• Working closely with the Head of HR to ensure development activities reflect current business objectives and are in line with HR policies and processes, to create one way of working across the business.
• Create strong relationships with Regional and Area managers nationwide, ensuring training programmes are effective and are fully evaluated.

To succeed in this role you will:
• have experience of working in a training role in a retail, leisure or hospitality environment.
• be CIPD or CTP qualified, or working towards a recognised training qualification.
• have strong influencing skills, with the ability to engage a variety of managers to ensure the training plan can be fully implemented and have full effectiveness.
• be experienced in working in a training environment, with strong experience of developing tailored training programmes.
• have the diplomacy to implement new ways of working with a team of trainers nationwide, ensuring that work is being carried out to the standard required to execute the training plan.
• be a self-starter with the ability to take a hands on approach and the confidence to challenge resistance to change

The role will include considerable weekly nationwide travel. It is therefore essential that you have a flexible approach to work and working hours, as this will include some overnight stays.
