We have an exciting opportunity within our Surgical division to support existing account managers in NHS & private hospital groups by carrying out direct marketing and sales activities, along with offering customer support so as to maintain and develop sales of the portfolio. Also to train & develop skill their set & surgical knowledge to the required level for account manager.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. Support Account manager’s/ Sales Equipment Specialist (SES) field activity, assisting in product trials, facilitating demonstrations, & supporting existing customer base enquiries/demands
  2. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by post, telephone, and personal visits.
  3. Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal order-processing staff.
  4. Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant information to line manager.
  5. Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  6. Develop knowledge through self-learning & research, whilst in field & using online resources/literature

Person/profile
Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook. A natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance. Reliable and determined. Must be an empathic communicator, influential & persuasive. Able to see things from the other person's point of view. Well presented and business-like. Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel up to a few days a week within the allocated region. Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability. Must be able to get on with others and be a team-player.

Business and Selling Skills: Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. No previous experience of medical device sales is necessary, although some sales experience is preferable, along with a biological academic background (to degree level preferable). You must be able to demonstrate previous success & aptitude by ideally achieving genuine sales. Experience of NHS/private healthcare groups would also be useful but not essential.
